Hi, I'm Alison V. Smith. I'm a photographer and I live in Dallas, Texas. One of my favorite things to do is to get in my car and drive throughout Texas and make photographs. When I'm struck by something, I pull over and take a picture or two. Often, I'm using my Hasselblad, which is a square format, and specifically, I'm shooting film. This process slows me down and allows me to make one rather than fire off a bunch like I might when I'm using my digital camera. This series is from a project I've been working on for almost 20 years on West Texas. And I continue to make pictures because I'm drawn to it and don't see the story ever ending.
